BASEM Revision Course for the FSEM Membership Exam Part Two

The BASEM Revision Course for the FSEM Membership Examination Part Two is an exam preparation course for Part Two of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FSEM) Membership Exam in SEM.

The FSEM Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) is designed to assess knowledge, skills, competence and professional attitudes required of a doctor who wishes to practice as a sport and exercise medicine practitioner in the United Kingdom. Possession of this Membership exam is an essential but insufficient criterion for obtaining the CCT in SEM.

This course is an exam preparation course for Part Two of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (FSEM) Membership exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine.  The purpose of the FSEM Membership exam is to assess knowledge, experience and clinical competency of Doctors within the field of Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) and is recognised for progression in specialty training for SEM.

  • 10:10 am / Tutorial A 3 groups. 25min each group, then swap
    Joint Examination Practice (I): [Group 1] Elbow, wrist & hand [Group 2] Knee [Group 3] Hip & groin
  • 11:40 am / Lecture 4
    Exercise, physical activity and illness
  • 12:05 pm
    Lunch
  • 12:50 pm / TUTORIAL B 20min each group, then swap
    Joint Examination Practice (II): [Group 1] Spine [Group 2] Shoulder [Group 3] Foot & ankle
  • 2:20 pm / Lecture 5
    Ethical and medico-legal issues
  • 2:35 pm / Lecture 6
    Emergency management principles
  • 2:50 pm / TUTORIAL C 2 groups
    BLS, ALS, AED practical
  • 3:50 pm / Open viva practice
    Viva example & discussion
  • 4:00 pm / OSCE & Viva Practice
    2 x 10min OSCE stations (1 x MSK/investigation interpretation, BLS/ATLS) + 5mins feedback after each station
