Cardiff Metropolitan University has delivered the MSc Sport and Exercise Medicine programme since 1999. The programme offers opportunities for students to engage with elite athletes, performers and sports teams. Doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other health professionals study together and benefit from sharing ideas and practices across disciplines. A high-quality teaching, learning and research environment is created by the range of sports medicine and science professionals and academics who deliver on programme. The programme follows a modular framework and is delivered in residential blocks; each residential block combines various learning and teaching methods such as lectures, clinical skills and practical sessions

Increase awareness and encourage students to become involved with us and understand the importance of exercise in health and wellbeing, as well as the role of SEM in return to fitness post injury. We want to narrow the gap between the undergraduate curriculum and the real world of SEM. We aim to provide educational talks and practical events for all interested undergraduate students in the London area. Our final aim is to provide a source of information for students considering a career in SEM and provide experience and networking opportunities.
Previous events – LSEMS is a society under reform. Last year we had talks from Dr Daniel Broman, elite physiotherapist Marco Zanobbi and Isokinetic’s Mike Davison. We also organised a student discount to the international Isokinetic “Football Medicine Strategies” and a private lunchtime meeting with two of the biggest names in the game – Brukner and Khan. This year, we hope to provide more regular events and develop the undergraduate SEM scene further. We’re looking for students and professionals to help this happen. If this interests you, send us an email, find our website at LondonSEMS.com, like us on Facebook and follow our Twitter feed.
