Bournemouth Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Course

The AECC is an Associate College of Bournemouth University
The aim of the course is to educate and train musculoskeletal practitioners in the safe and competent use of diagnostic ultrasound imaging in the visualisation and interpretation of musculoskeletal conditions. This course provides essential ultrasound skills in MSK leading to the accreditation of clinical competency as a prerequisite for safe practice.
The course is accredited by CASE (Consortium for Accreditation of Sonographic Education).
Approved by the College of Sports and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP).
Endorsed by the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB).
Delegates who successfully complete this course can register for a PgD/MSc in MSK Ultrasound.
The Affliation between the centre for ultrasound studies (CUS) and BASEM
BASEM has formed an affliation with the Centre for Ultrasound Studies with a view to mutual benefits for both parties in terms of access to high quality education and training for BASEM members in MSK ultrasound leading to the accreditation of essential ultrasound skills.CUS and BASEM have agreed to champion validated and accredited MSK ultrasound education and training in view to implementation of safe practice.CUS offers both Short focused and Master’s accredited ultrasound courses and has offered a 25% discount to BASEM Members on its short focused course:
a). The Short focused course is run twice a year (2 days attendance initially) and thereafter attendance to one day a month intensive supervised training to reach competent practitioners status.
b). The Master’s course is validated by Bournemouth University and registration is usually in August/September time with attendance planned for October/November and January and thereafter delegates carry out supervised training twice a month to reach competent practitioners status.
