The Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine
The Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine offers a range of membership options to help support SEM professionals in their career and establish status as a practicing SEM Professionals.
Entry to membership can be achieved through the following paths and BASEM membership and revision courses are available to help in preparation for and in association with this:
Diplomate membership is available to any doctor, allied health professional or equivalent who has passed one of FSEM’s Diploma examinations.
Membership is available to those who have successfully passed both the Part One and Part Two of the FSEM Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Fellowship is available to those who have been accepted onto the Specialist Register in Sport and Exercise Medicine and have successfully passed both the Part One an Part Two of the FSEM Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine.Â
BASEM and FSEM are currently separate organisations and have separate memberships. But work is underway for each organisation to potentially dissolve and come together to form a proposed new college in Sport and Exercise Medicine: Find out more about these plans on our dedicated web page.

SEM Academy
BASEM have teamed up with the Australasian Institute of Sport (ACSEP) to offer our members exclusive access to the SEM Academy. The SEM Academy is an interactive online educational Learning Management System, for Sport and Exercise Medicine, managed by the ACSEP with content experts from across the globe. The Academy combines contemporary knowledge curated by world experts in a modern, interactive and accessible digital platform, supported by a community of subject matter leaders
