The Durham County Cricket Foundaton and the Medical Advisory Group of Durham County Cricket Club invite you to attend the above meeting.
Speakers at the meeting will present their experiences in providing medical cover (for competitors and spectators) at major national and international sporting events in the North East of England. The meeting will outline current guidance from HM Government and the British Medical Association and will include a discussion of "The Great North Run's Coroners Inquest". It is aimed at the following people:-
Doctors providing medical cover at large sporting events.
Ambulance personnel and first aiders providing cover at such events.
Safety Officers and Stadium Managers of sporting stadia.
Sports to be discussed include cricket, football, rugby union, horse racing and the Great North Run and for doctors attending, CPD recognition (5 points) have been approved by the College of Emergency Medicine and Royal College of Anaesthetists. It is also being sought from the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, RCS Edinburgh.
Fees: GP or Hospital Consultant - £100, Trainee Doctor, Amulance Personnel, First Aiders - £80, Representative of professional sporting organisations - £100.
Fees from the event will be donated to the grass roots sports charity at the Durham County Cricket Foundation (Registered charities no: 1127721).
