Welcome to the BASEM Members Forum. Our updated forum replaces the web based forum that we initially launched 2 years ago when our website was upgraded. It has become clear that members do not utilise a web based discussion format and following the success of the email forum pioneered by UKADIS we have developed a new system based on email, without the need for a login.
We have been very conscious that any email forum for an organisation of the size of BASEM could become very intrusive and therefore we have built in 2 levels of control which allow members to opt out of all discussions or individual discussions.
Over the last 4 weeks the BASEM Executive has tested the system and as far as is possible we believe we have ironed out any teething problems. That said once it is fully operational there maybe unforseen glitches. Please be patient and if you have concerns then please email the BASEM webmaster on webmaster@basem.co.uk.
Finally can I ask all of you to pay careful attention to the following Forum Rules, which have been written to ensure the system runs smoothly.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL EXISTING MEMBERS WILL AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE POSTS TO THE EMAIL FORUM.
In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us at webmaster@basem.co.uk
General Rules:
While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts. To bump means if no one has replied to your question instantly, wait a while before you send the message again, in some cases not all the members will be online to respond instantly so please be patient.
We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate Basem community standards. The Basem admin shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.
We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
You can not post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal. For example if you have links that earn you revenue when clicked on, please do not send to the forum.
You cannot post adverts for products.
We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support forums are a privileged and not a right. A banned customer is still entitled to support from the support system.
Signatures should not be added in any email to forum or small terms. From Outlook this can be done by following these steps:
Select Tools > Options > A window appears On that window select the tab Mail Format
