For the last five years BASEM has run a one or two day Spring Conference each year in April aimed at providing cutting edge education to the membership and beyond. In 2010 BASEM will replace their Spring Meeting and Annual Congress with a 3 day International Conference which will take place in November and will include keynote and parallel sessions to suit all BASEM member’s educational needs.
The venue will be in London.
The focus and framework of the Conference is currently being prepared and will be available on the website in the New Year, including a statement on BASEM’s vision for the future

BASEM Spring Conference 2009
The last 2009 BASEM Spring Conference was held at Burleigh Court Conference centre, Loughborough University on Wednesday 29th and and Thursday 30th April, 2009.
Over one hundred delegates gathered at Burleigh Court in Loughborough to hear what the experts had to say on the latest issues surrounding "The Hamstring". The day long meeting closely examined current thoughts on hamstring injury and dysfunction and considered the wide variety of treatments available looking at which treatments practitioners should choose and when.
There was also two half day meetings including an SEM Registrar led session looking at SEM and the Media and a BASEM/UK Sport discussion workshop looking at Ethics in Sport. You can click here for more details on this event:
BASEM Spring Meeting 2008
The 2008 BASEM Spring Conference was held at Burleigh Court Conference centre, Loughborough University on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 April, 2008. The conference focused on the interaction between athletes, surfaces and equipment looking at injury profiles and performance.
BASEM/BOA Spring Meeting 2007 Return to Sport Wednesday 25th - Thursday 26th, 2007 - Burleigh Court, Loughborough This meeting focused on 'return to play' issues that frequently confound physicians and physical therapists. Sessions included the assessment of groin injuries, head and spinal injuries, as well as advice on returning to sport after pregnancy, illness and non-sports related surgery. BASEM Spring Meeting 2006 Novel Treatments Approaches in Sport Wedesday 26th- Thursday 27th April, 2006 - The De Vere Belfry This meeting sought to examine the evidence base underpinning some unusual and novel treatment approaches including Mesotherapy, Actovegan, Traumeel, Autologous Blood Injections, Hyperbaric Oxygen and the current status of Stem Cell research. BASEM/UKADIS Spring Meeting 2005 The Endurance Runner From Fell to Desert, Marathon to Ultradistance 21st -22nd April, 2005 - The De Vere Belfry This meeting focused on the most up to date views on those medical and scientific issues pertinent to the endurance runner.
