This General Sports Exercise and Medicine course is a 4 day introductory course suited for the doctor or physical therapist who wishes to develop their interest in sports and exercise medicine. The course will cover aspects of both sports medicine and science in health, disease and following acute and chronic injury. Specific lectures will include:

• functional clinical examination
• biomechanical assessment
• treatment and rehabilitation principles
• trauma management
• advanced life support
• cardiovascular responses to exercise
• muscle physiology
• fluid balance and nutrition in sport
• practical exercise testing
